Market Essentials (with product links)

As a market vendor, it’s important to have the right tools to help you succeed. Here are some essential items that through trial and error, I've learned that you should definitely be purchasing to make your market experience as easy and successful as possible. I'll link the items I have so it's easier to get you started.

A Tent: If your market is outdoors, a tent is a must-have item. Not only does it provide protection from the elements (I'm looking at you, rain and UV rays.), but it also helps establish your presence and create a professional atmosphere. Make sure to get a sturdy, waterproof tent that’s big enough to accommodate your setup.

A Folding Table: Most markets will provide you with one, but just incase they don't, you should have one on hand.
-
A Fitted Table Cover: Most markets will provide you with a table, but they're usually just plastic folding tables. Elevate your look with a sleek fitted table cover!
-
A Collapsible Wagon: This baby has saved my back (and patience) so many times. Just stack your items inside of it, and wheel that sucker into the venue. Unload it and then fold it back up for storage until you're ready to pack up again. It collapses super flat so it's easy to transport and store too which is great!
-
A Belt Bag for Cash: A belt bag is a stylish way to keep your money safe and organized. Look for one that has enough space to store your cash, coins, and credit cards. The one I use is a great Lululemon belt bag dupe, for a fraction of the cost!
-
Signage: Invest in a professionally designed sign to showcase your products and services. This will help draw attention to your booth and give customers an idea of what you are oering. I purchased mine from a local vendor in Ottawa (@the.little.evergreen) and I get so many compliments on it. When I go to markets, I put it on an easel so it's at eye level. I also have an amazing banner for my table setup that I hang over the front of my table made by another local vendor (@_moveovermartha) that I love.

An Anti-Fatigue Floor Mat: I can't stress this one enough. Your feet will be SORE from standing on them all day. Get yourself an anti-fatigue floor mat to help prevent back pain while you're out there workin' it!
-
Price List: Make a super aesthetic price list in canva, print it out, put it in a simple frame (like the one I linked), and VOILA! You've got a cute price list that will denitely help bring people to your booth!
-
A Credit Card Reader: Having the ability to accept credit card payments is essential for any market vendor. Get yourself a card reader that is compatible with your smartphone or tablet. Square's Tap & Chip reader is super user friendly and reliable.
-
Extra Supplies: Have some extra supplies on hand, such as tape, scissors, paper, and pens. This will come in handy if you need to make any last-minute adjustments to your setup.
-
Bluetooth Speaker: I cannot tell you how many times the music in my booth has brought people over. If you make your setup fun, people will want to come party with you and buy your items! The Megaboom 3 is a SERIOUS little speaker. I use it at markets but also when I'm in my backyard. It packs some serious punch in the sound department!
And there you have it! You'll be well on your way to having everything you need to have a great market! Good luck!
Xoxo,
Glo
